The orchestration is faithful to the spirit of Moondog, involving instruments invented by the composer, showing a variety of sounds present in his music and faithfully re-creating vocal parts he has written. the Paris quintet
Cabaret Contemporain went towards electronic-dance interpretation. The quartet is known from interpreting recordings by various composers/ ensembles (John Cage, Terry Riley, Kraftwerk) and creating acoustic electronics (music played on instruments stylised as electronic instruments). Together with two Swedish vocalists:
Linda Olah and
Isabel Saling, the group took the pieces from the record
Moondog. Their interpretation saw the light of the day at the end of 2015, released by Sub Rosa label. It will be presented live next to a more guitar, blues and vocal-instrumental interpretation of New York’s Viking by
Raphael Roginski who invited special guests:
Natalia Przybysz and the
Širom ensemble from Slovenia. Roginski is one of the most original Polish guitarists, building his own language of dialogue with the music of sources (Jewish, Middle Eastern, Slavic, American), Bach, Coltran, Purcell, and now also Moondog, based on trance, focus and severity. So we will have three completely different interoperations of Moondog.
