Sacrum Profanum 2023

Urszula Kryger

In 1995 she performed in La Scala with a recital of Frederic Chopin's songs. A year later she made her debut on the stage of the Semperoper in Dresden in G. Rossini's La Cenerentola as Angelina. Polish and foreign audiences had the opportunity to listen to her performances in oratorio works performed under the baton of renowned maestros, including Jan Krenz, Jerzy Semkow, Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, Sir Colin Davis and Armin Jordan.

Kryger pays special attention to chamber music – her interpretations combine perfection with naturalness. This is appreciated by the musicians collaborating with the artist, including Hartmut Höll, Charles Spencer, Melvyn Tan and Pascal Rogé, Paul Meyer, Tokyo String Quartet and the Petersen Quartet.

The artist has made many recordings for radio stations and record companies, including: Decca (Huit chansons polonaises by Poulenc), Hyperion (Polish songs by Chopin), CPO (Ballads by Löwe), DUX (Russian Duets – Fryderyk Award in 2001, Songs by Moniuszko and Songs by Karłowicz and Szymanowski – Fryderyk Award in 2002, Songs by Żeleński – Fryderyk Award in 2012, Slavic Duets, German Duets), BNL (Arias by Beethoven), Naxos (Songs by Lutosławski), Channel Classics (Szymanowski Complete Songs – Fryderyk Award in 2004), Polish Radio (Szymanowski – Songs with Orchestra), NInA (Mykietyn – St. Mark's Passion)
