Anji Cheung crafts hypnotic layered drones, pulsing electronics and words beckoning all to the ritual.


Her soundscapes are offerings that permeate and linger. With eight releases spread across various labels, including Aurora Borealis Recordings and Utech Records, her output to date demonstrates an eclecticism. Hypnagogic hums from the edge of sleep marry apotropaic squalls of noise, reflecting the fluctuating worlds and atmospheres of the innermost terrain.

Cheung is currently collaborating with dancer and choreographer Alkistis Dimech on the second dance in Dimech’s Apocalyptería cycle. Previously she has collaborated with Tunnels of Āh and English Heretic. In 2017 she opened for KTL and Merzbow/Pándi.
