Marek Pospieszalski - an artist-in-residence of the Sacrum Profanum? Naturally! He will perform his composition, written for string orchestra, two tapes and saxophone, alongside the Sinfonietta Cracovia led by Lilianna Krych. Nadnaturalny is a piece that brings together Pospieszalski's various fascinations with the raw drone of the strings, the lively improvisations of the saxophone, and old-school electronics and live-mixed echoes of what the orchestra is playing using tapes. The artist once again builds a musical bridge between the past and what is yet to come.

The concert will open with a piece by Eva-Maria Houben, a German organist, pianist and composer and member of the Wandelweiser collective. Her music, like that of the group as a whole, is characterised by sparse and fragile soundscapes. She offers an alternative relationship to time and, above all, integrates silence. Houben describes it as: But I'm starting to hear less and less of the break that relates to something that ha a meaning or a certain role... I am starting to hear more of that real break, that break that becomes dangerous: The music has disappeared, dissolved. There is nothing left. I cannot hear anything - and yet I can hear that I can still hear something, though...The seascape harmonies composition is directly inspired by nature, the sounds of the rolling sea, in which the orchestra's musicians play in sync to their own breathing.

Its home is the former power plant of Podgórze “wrapped” in a modern construction. The exhibition halls are suspended over the roof of the historical building, and the café situated on the top floor commands a panorama of the city,...
