You Origin composed by Stephen O'Malley. It was created as a site-specific work for the megalithic menhirs at Carnac in Brittany and consists of four sequential, acoustic movements performed sequentially at dusk, dawn, dusk and dawn. It is now being successfully adapted for performance in other unusual venues - in Krakow it will be heard at KrakusMound and Błonia Meadows. The music allows contemplating the passage of time, changing light, propagating sound and contact with nature and its natural cycle determined by the sun.

O'Malley wrote You Origin for the Swiss Alponom ensemble, which plays alphorns and conchs (in the final movement). The musicians play in five spaced out pairs, creating a resonating sound field for the audience to enter. Ten alphorns will play long cyclic drones composed based on natural harmonic series. The composition is based on slow changes, echoes, breathing and repetition. The sound will enliven the area and the awakening nature will add its part.

AccessibilityThe intimate concert will be performed in an open space. The music will be subdued, even quiet at times, and the atmosphere will be full of reverie, focus and contemplation of sound, changing nature and light. Warm clothing and a hot beverage in a thermos are recommended. The listeners will be able to stand or move freely around the musicians.

it is an outdoor space, insufficiently adapted to the needs of people with mobility difficulties (meadow, uneven surface, no toilets). No induction loop or FM systems for the hard of hearing will be available during the event.
