Sung Stories

BUY TICKET

This evening we will give the space of Wesoła over to sung stories, including fantastic music from the world of Rocronde – performed by Arthur Chambry, who will reach for self-made wind instruments. This will be followed by Harry Górski-Brown playing authentic Scottish mountain tunes on “toy” bagpipes. And finally, Barbara Kinga Majewska will perform an original song cycle with piano accompaniment. Together we will find out that everything sings!

6 p.m.

It is still difficult to say whether La Seuz is a prayer, a gossip, an alarm or a metaphysical voice, but we are sure that it consists of sounds linked to the wind and the air. On the Rocronde planet, you will sometimes hear singing trees or old squeaking seaweed, but above all, you will meet singing communities. To understand what La Seuz is, look for the Pastours (deaf giants), listen to the Azmate people (a community of wandering singers), hit the rocks of Montodeau and absorb their vibrations. Everything comes together, vibrating in every pebble or stream of the Rocronde world. You will be taken there by Arthur Chambry, who will spin folk fantasy tales with his bardic voice and DIY brass instruments.

7 p.m.

Harry Górski-Brown, a Scotsman with Polish roots, will bring his '”toys” – small Scottish bagpipes. He will play them, as well as violin, and sing ancient Gaelic songs with a highly emotional message. Sneachd' Air Drum Uachdar is about all the things we would do for the love of someone. Dùthaich MhicAoidh, on the other hand, is a lament over the displacements of Gaels from the land of Mackay that took place in the 18th and 19th century and are known as the Highland Clearances. Górski-Brown will use effects and electronics to inscribe these songs into the contemporary experimental pop aesthetic.
