Project carried out in cooperation with Bôłt Records.

Referring directly to the neighbourhood, in the coming years we want to bring the music of Eastern European countries closer to our audiences. After last year’s celebration of the centenary of Polish independence, we want to share this common joy with Lithuania, which celebrated its anniversary alongside us. Four of the programmes were created as part of an artistic residence, in cooperation with the outstanding cellist Anton Lukoszevieze.

This is one of these programmes – the concert of Arturas Bumšteinas’ Works & Days, a band reactivated for the festival. Sacrum Profanum can have no shortage of real eccentric musicians, who are impossible to categorise and who don’t shy away from bold combinations and experiments. Arturas Bumšteinas and Gailė Griciūtė fit this description perfectly.

The concert will be opened with a piece for three instruments by Griciūtė and conclude with a three-quarter-long Inward Music by Bumšteinas. Both compositions were commissioned by the Festival. Works & Days Ensemble will perform with a new line-up, starring Dominykas Norkūnas, a great, flexible and diverse guitarist.
