The idea of this international group of soloists is to “create music never created before”. Members of musikFabrik search for new forms of expression and alternative forms of presentation. Apart from chamber music, open to any artistic innovation and all kinds of improvisation, the group uses live electronics, dance, theatre, film and literature. Engaging the audience is also a significant element of musikFabrik’s concerts. Thanks to an unconventional profile and high artistic quality of their projects, musikFabrik is one of the most highly regarded groups in the world, and both composers and conductors are always ready to cooperate with them. The list of outstanding personalities from the world of music with whom the group has cooperated is long. It includes: Louis Andriessen, Stefan Asbury, Sir Harrison Birtwistle, Mauricio Kagel, Helmut Lachenmann, Zsolt Nagy, Emmanuel Nunes, Peter Rundel, Rebecca Saunders, Wolfgang Rihm and Hans Zender. Intensive work results in more than 100 concerts a year, all over Europe, frequent recordings for radio stations, as well as the production of their own records. musikFabrik performs regularly as part of the musikFabrik im WDR series. Earlier this year, in May, the group took part in the performance of Karlheinz Stockhausen's Klang series as part of the MusikTriennale.
